Virtually serving clients & consultees all around the world. All sessions are conducted via HIPAA compliant Zoom platform.
Mimosa Collins, RDN, CD has been providing nutrition counseling to individuals and families in a variety of settings for nearly a decade.
Mimosa’s approach is client-centered, using therapeutic modalities that meet the client where they are, including Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy. Mimosa is also trained as a Be Body Positive and Holistic Resistance facilitator, both of which support groups and individuals returning to themselves through an anti-oppression lens and critical examination of the stories that keep them in conflict with their body. Using a Health and Every Size (HAES)® approach, which emphasizes holistic health at every size, is part of this dismantling.
While working at the in-patient level of care, Mimosa provided nutrition support to a wide range of eating disorder diagnoses, from Anorexia Nervosa to Binge Eating Disorder and ARFID. She also provided administrative supervision of the dietary program prior to transitioning to private practice full-time. Now with over 1900 contact hours with patients and providers, Mimosa is offering consulting to new dietitians who want to specialize in eating disorder recovery and disordered eating; specifically among adolescents and their families, individuals that hold BIPOC or LGBTQIA+ identities, or those who experience weight stigma.
Outside the office, Mimosa practices what she promotes and engages in activities that support her holistic embodiment. These practices include dancing and yoga, cuddling with cats, and spending time with friends and family.
In effort to support her professional and personal development, Mimosa is an active member of the following organizations:
- EDRD Pro
- Association of Size Diversity and Health (ASDAH)
- Holistic Resistance
- Psychodrama in-person training under Leticia Nieto
